Born in1954, Dordoni is part of the Milan generation represented by such designers as Castiglioni, Zanuso, Magistretti and Lucchi. He graduated Architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1979. Ever since, he has been designing for the best known furniture and lighting systems manufacturers. For some of them, as a Design Director, he established and coordinated product strategy.
During the past years, he worked as a designer and consultant for famous brands, in the product design area, with such names as Artemide și Moroso, as well as for stores, showrooms and exhibitions for Panasonic and Dolce & Gabbana. In 2005 he founded Dordoni Architects Studio, in collaboration with Alessandro Acerbi and Luca Zaniboni, dedicated in particular to interior design and projecting.
He held numerous speeches with the most prestigious cultural centers in the world and was Editor of Domus magazine from 1985 to 1991. 25 of his works are included in the permanent design exhibition of the New York Art Museum, that also dedicated to him a personal retrospective in 1987.
