Zaha Hadid Architects chose Cassina to produce the sculpture-couch entitled ‘The Zephyr’. Futurist-looking shape inspired by rock formation erosion, the couch is sculpted of glass fibre, by latest generation production techniques.
The couch is made of lacquered glass fibre and stands for a new couch concept. Inspired by wind-eroded rock formations, the couch has a dynamic shape with whole sections chipped from the solid base. The deeply sculpted backrest and the winding shape allows placing the couch in various positions.
‘The Zephyr’ couch will be an iconic piece and an excellent innovative design representation experimented by Pritzker prize winner Zaha Hadid.
